New Website

Go check out a great new web site called Jackrabbit Marketplace.  It is a fair trade site promoting women artist in New Mexico.  A few of my pieces were purchased for the site.  They have lots of great stuff at fair prices.  The mark up is very minimal so the artist actualy makes money!!! what a great concept!  Next time you need a gift, or just something special for yourself, go check out  Jackrabbit Marketplace for my enamel bracelet

"Now What" Flying pig

I used Peruvian Opal, some beautiful quartz with graphite rutlation
some low quality moonstone that looks so cool! I used some old text from 1860 on the clasp
 Moonstone and rough Garnet
I also used some crystal quartz.  Moonstone and pink quarts briloets on the chain

some vintage brass chain in the necklace.  I used bronze and sterling  wire to attache the pendant

Im pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I made a small tag out of silver with "now what" stamped on it.  I think I am going to make a larger silver plate and rivet it to the back of the pendant.  Not use how to do that not that the pig is attached.  Any suggestions? I cant solder because the pig is resin.  I dont want to glue...so...???

a few new things

So I have a few new cast pieces I need to finish,  First I cast a squirrel.  Its really cute.  His tail is attached to an old soda lid.  I have a wierd strand of nut beads I think I  will use in some way

They were originaly crystal clear so I had to distress them a bit.  I drilled small holes in them.  cut on them with an exact o knife and painted them with van dyke brown.  I added some family hints of pink to the ears, cheeks and hands,  It should be pretty funny when Im done.  I need a clever name.  Anny suggestions?  Ive been sewing a bag for each piece of jewelry.  O think I will try to sew an acorn or a tree.  Tree might be easier!

The Monkey is turning out pretty cool.  My son has a stone carved set of "see no evil, Hear no evil, and speak no evil"  I molded and then cast the "hear no evil monkey".  Casting the entire piece just gets to heavy, so he is hust 1/2  monkey.  His body is attached to an old rusty soda lid.  I may try to give him some funky recycled legs.  He hangs from a banner that states "lalalala...I cant hear you" less preachy don't ya think?

I need to think on this one a bit before I finish his necklace.  I have a feeling I might be wearing this one around a bit.  Im getting pretty tired of listening to every one else talk!  Its time I had a few things to say! Metaphorically speaking!  I feel Im a good listener, but lately all I hear is bitching. Like my sweet monkey, we don't need that shit!!!I want to listen to sweet, positive meaningful words.  Got any?

Have a great night

This is how I spend my last 12 hours!!!

I want to get some cool cast pieces before ARTFEST.  I have been working on this piece since about 5pm (Sunday)  I made a mold of a flying pig.  I then cast it in Ice Resin (of Course)  I used a cool old lid I found in a parking lot as the base of the pendant,  I riveted an old negative, some papers and some Ice resin paper on to the old lid.  I secured the flying pig to the center.  While I was waiting for it to dry, I have a metal Tag that states "Now What"  It was getting very late and I was a bit punch drunk (still am)  Ive always thought the saying was funny (when pigs fly)  my response is ""ok then what...Whats next?"  Its now 7AM and the sun is coming up so I dont think I will finish before bed!!  I have some cool pink Peruvian opals I have in mind,  I need to use piggie colors!  Ill post the fished piece soon.  Let me know what you think

I think it hard to tell it is a pig in the pictures.  Maybe I need to patina it a bit darker? any suggestions?

Drawings for Book Of Faces

I did 2 drawings for a "book of faces" Penelope is doing for art fest.  They were drawn from paintings my son Ian did.
