Well.. I have submitted my application for the 2012-2013 Ice Resin design team. I applied last year and I guess we all know how that turned out!! I use to get my feelings hurt when i was turned down for something. Especially when it pertained to my art. I now take each event as a learning experience. If I dont make it, I just was not right for the position. But it gives me an opportunity to get better at filling out applications and putting myself out there. Im excited about the possibilities but if not, Im sure the urniverse will present something else...it always does. Here are the pix I submitted.

Last stop on the Blog Hop.
Well I am the end of the road for the Industrial chic Blog Hop kicking off Susan Lenart Kazmer website slk industrial chic. I received a few of Susans new pieces several weeks ago.
An Industrial Chic Monster Bunny!! I just used scraps of fabric and no pattern. I used one of Susans focal pieces for the eye and chain for the mouth. I took apart a piece of chain and used part of it as the nose. I think it came out pretty cute. Maybe it can be the IC mascot!!!
If you missed any of the amazing pieces along the way, go back and take a look at past blog posts. Thanks again Susan for creating such a fun and versatile line for artist to use! we cant get enough
I did not want to make jewelry. These new pieces are so fun, they lend themselves to so much more. I took a class from Susan at Artfest on journal making and I took a monster doll class from Junker Jane. I had so much fun in each class and felt the styles mixed well...so here is what I came up with....

Holy Cow..Im in print!!
Ive been published! What an amazing feeling. I decided at the first of the year that I was going to take more chances with my art work. Submitting art work to my favorite magazines was part of putting myself out there. Cloth Paper Scissors was the first magazine I submitted work to. I posted pictures to the website and was thrilled when they asked to see my work in person. That was enough for me, but when I got the word that my work would be published, I was over the moon. I have been to our local book store checking daily just to see if for some unexplained reason, the magazine arrived early. But alas, it has not. I have a digital subscription to CPS and noticed that the September issue was available for view. I got my first glimpse of my work in print tonight. The photo is beautiful and I could not be more pleased. Thank you Cloth Paper Scissors for making a dream come true!!!

Mama's got a brand new bag
I have been looking for a large bag to take with me to France. I have not had any luck, so I decided to tackle it on my own. I wanted a bag large enough that I could take my purse, lap top and jewelry. I think everything will fit!
I used an Image of nurses on one side. I thought it would be clever to use Images of what I am trying to escape! I need a vacation from nursing.
Then I used an Image of Alice being crushed inside the home on the reverse. I feel like the walls are closing in on me! I never seem to get my "wifely" duties done on my day off.
I left a blank banner over the heart. I intend on stamping something clever like "Im late, im late..for a very important vacation"
I have not posted in quite some time. I have been in a weird funk. A bit depressed. My partner in crime and my close friend Suzi moved away. Suzi was the other Hospice nurse at my company. This left just little old ME for the entire Hospice program. This has been an overwhelming change. Hospice is such an emotional job, it was nice to have someone to talk with about the stresses (and handle half the case load) I cant complain to the patents! They dont like it when I whine about how tough my job is!!!
